DHENKANAL, Odisha (May 30, 2023) – Indalc Spirits Private Limited today announced the groundbreaking of its new grain-based ethanol production facility in Dhenkanal, Odisha, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to sustainable energy, agricultural growth, and India's expanding biofuel sector.

The groundbreaking ceremony brought together company leadership, government officials, industry stakeholders, local farmers, and community members to celebrate the beginning of a project that will contribute to India's ethanol blending goals while generating long-term economic benefits for the region.

Once operational, the facility will produce 100 KLPD of grain-based ethanol, supporting the growing demand for renewable transportation fuels across India. The plant will also generate valuable co-products, including Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) and other feed ingredients, creating additional revenue streams for the agricultural sector.

The project is expected to create significant direct and indirect employment opportunities during both the construction and operational phases. In addition, the facility will generate sustained demand for agricultural feedstocks, strengthening market access for farmers and supporting rural livelihoods throughout Odisha and neighboring regions.

India's focus on increasing ethanol blending in petrol has accelerated investment in domestic biofuel production capacity. The Dhenkanal facility will play an important role in supporting national energy security objectives by reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels while promoting cleaner and more sustainable fuel alternatives.
